South Park: Phone Destroyer

I worked on this project for six years from 2015 to 2021. Since I was there pretty much from the beginning I got to work on a wide range of tasks from 3D map concepting to level setup, level art, in-game characters, outfits, card illustrations, marketing art, UI, etc… Some of the outfits for the main characters I made ended up being animated by South Park Digital Studios for cut scenes and a few even made their way to the tv-show episodes.

2D In-Game Character Art

Was tasked with producing a whole range of NPC-character art with the help of an outsourcing studio. The iconic South Park characters were dressed up as imaginative RPG-characters. I created a whole bunch of the character art myself from start to finish. I also reviewed the outsourced art, provided feedback and maintained visual consistency across all assets.

These are final quality animatable character assets that the player sees in the game.

2D Character Customization Assets

These are player character outfits. Each outfit pieces had to have up to two colours which could be picked by the player.

Game Element Visuals

Was tasked to create four themed sets of seamless tiles that can be used together to make natural organic shapes on the battlefield. These were areas on the battlefield characters couldn’t walk through.

I made these tiles to look like kids crayon drawings and they were paired with some props that were not flat against the ground to create more visual interest.

Level Visuals & Construction In Unity

I constructed a number of PvP arenas and provided most of the art assets they are made of. I also personally constructed them in Unity while making sure everything is optimized for performance.

Map Prototype

In the early development I made this playable interactive map prototype in Unity.
